About Me

I’m Ares Nikolas Valdiviezo, a writer and filmmaker born in Council Bluffs, Iowa. My life has been shaped by instability, movement, and a deep need to express what I’ve lived. I once followed the path to nursing, chasing security and structure, but I’ve since rerouted toward storytelling in its rawest, most vulnerable forms. My background is a blend of working-class resilience, Peruvian-American identity, and creative obsession. I create work that dissects what we hide underneath the surface through poetry, screenwriting, and film. I’m currently studying Film and Psychology at the University of Michigan, and my focus is always on pulling truth from the noise.
